Administrative Appointments
An appointment that gives a faculty member a fixed-term leadership role (such as Department Head, Associate Dean or Program Director) so they can take on managerial or administrative duties in addition to their academic appointment.
Chair and Professorship
It’s a secondary academic appointment awarded to a current faculty member, often a named or endowed role (e.g., a Canada Research Chair) which recognizes exceptional distinction and supports enhanced research, teaching or service.
Academic Secondments
An academic secondment temporarily assigns an academic staff member to another faculty, unit, or external organization, allowing them to work on a special project or fill a role while keeping their original appointment.
