Hybrid Work Program

A key organizational priority at the University of Calgary is to develop a long-term approach to hybrid working.  Hybrid work is the flexibility to balance working onsite with working remotely.

Fall 2022

A key part of defining the long-term approach to hybrid work is community engagement.  The first step in the community engagement plan was to seek feedback from employees and leaders through a comprehensive survey.  Each of the two (2) surveys was geared towards that particular group; employees and leaders.  The spirit of these surveys was to explore the possibilities.

The university community provided a tremendous response.  Responses were thoughtful, practical, and positive as we work through program design.  View the survey results here.

As our long-term approach to hybrid work develops, we encourage leaders and employees to continue to work together to manage and evaluate their current work arrangements.

While the surveys were comprehensive and explored many topics related to hybrid working, the university recognizes there are a number of other 'live' topics that require attention.  These surveys sought feedback related to administrative and operational components of hybrid working.  Topics such as teaching requirements and research space will be explored at a later date and through different mediums.
