Checklist for Employees who have Resigned

Prior to your last day of employment you should do the following:

If you have a parking permit, return it to Parking Services in a timely manner.

Ensure your mailing address is up-to-date in your Self Service menu. Accurate contact information will ensure that final pay advices and tax receipts are directed to your correct address after departure.

Return all equipment and/or software (e.g. cell phone, computer and peripherals, tools, research equipment, etc.) to your manager.

Also, ensure you return any rental equipment or library resources on loan from university service providers

Ensure you print off any required pay statements or tax receipts for your personal records.  If you have any personal emails in your email account, please export these before your termination date.  Access to this information will not be available after your termination date.

Do you hold a project, whether a research allowance or a grant? For Tri-agency projects, please complete the Canadian Institute of Health Research Award Termination form and send to postdoc@ucalgary.ca so we can report the changes to the relevant agency.

Ensure you keep your bank accounts open for deposit of final pay.

Health and dental coverage will terminate at the end of the day on your termination date. The employee has 12 months to submit any claims to Alberta Blue Cross for services rendered prior to termination date, but we recommend that you submit any remaining claims right away. Member's Services website will be terminated on the termination, employees can contact Alberta Blue Cross directly for any questions at 403.234.9666 in Calgary.

Return your Campus ID Card, Keys, and secureID to your manager on your last day

If applicable, you can apply for an alumni email account.   Staff are not eligible to keep their @ucalgary.ca account after termination regardless of former student or alumni status.
