Flexible Benefit Re-Enrolment
Management and Professional Staff
Employees enrol into the MaPS Flexible Group Benefits Plan when they are first hired.
- Flex Option choices are in place until the next re-enrolment period at which time all MaPS are given the opportunity to review their current coverage and make new Flex Option Choices.
- Re-enrolment periods are every two years effective Jan. 1 of each odd year (Jan. 1, 2021, Jan. 1, 2023, Jan. 1, 2025, etc.).
The rates for all benefits including Price Tags for Health and Dental will be reviewed annually and you will be notified of any change to your excess credits and/or required payroll deduction. While rates and Price Tags change annually, you can only change Flex Options every two years.
The next re-enrolment period will be late 2020 to be effective Jan. 1, 2021.
We strongly encourage you to take action when you receive notification to re-enrol. If you do not submit choices, you will default into your current benefit option choices, and any excess credits will be defaulted to your Health Spending Account. Once credits have defaulted to the Health Spending Account you will be unable to allocate anything to the Wellness Spending Account until the next re-enrolment period. Credits that are defaulted cannot be moved between spending accounts.
