Recommendation to the Dean

The Academic Selection Committee makes its recommendation to the Dean. If possible, the recommendation should include the top 3 candidates ranked in order of preference, with the Committee's vote duly recorded.

Faculties are reminded to contact the Immigration Consultant in Human Resources as soon as possible when recommending a 'foreign national' (that is, an individual that is not a Canadian citizen or permanent resident ), in order to begin the Labour Market Opinion process.

By April 30, 2012, 124 applications were received either by regular mail or electronically, in addition to the 17 applications held over from the previous year's pool. The split between female/male applicants was 10/131 and between Canadians/non-Canadians was 76/65.

Short listed candidates:

Twelve applicants were short-listed, one female and 11 males, 8 were Canadians and 4 non-Canadians. All candidates were invited for an interview visited by the Department for 1.5-2 days. In addition to giving a research seminar and an undergraduate sample lecture, they met with faculty, graduate and undergraduate students both formally and informally.
