MaPS Advisory Council
The MaPS Advisory Council provides insight and feedback to senior leadership at the University of Calgary on matters that affect the Management and Professional Staff (MaPS) community.
The Council supports Talent for Tomorrow, UCalgary’s first institution-wide People Plan, and reflects a shared commitment to fostering an engaged, supported, and future-focused workforce. It serves as a forum for sharing best practices, strengthening representation, and helping inform initiatives that shape the MaPS employee experience.
What the Council does
- Provides feedback on People and Culture policies and programs.
- Advises on professional development, recruitment, onboarding, and employee experience.
- Supports communication with the MaPS community.
- Advises on MaPS representation on University committees
Membership
The Council includes up to nine members, including a Chair. Membership is intended to reflect the diversity of the MaPS community.
Eligibility
Open to MaPS employees with appointments of 0.8 FTE or greater.
Term
Two-year term, renewable.
Selection
Members are appointed through an open call for expressions of interest, facilitated by People and Culture.
