Places to Live
Something for Everyone
Live, learn and grow alongside your peers, and create strong and lasting friendships. Housing options transition with you as you progress through your university experience. From shared dorm-style rooms in first year, to full apartments in upper years or grad school, to family housing for families, there are options available for all students.
First Year
All first year students under the age of 21 live in single or double occupancy rooms in a first year dormitory-style residence and are guaranteed residence for the first two years of their study at the University of Calgary.
Second Year
All second year students, including transfer and international students, live in in furnished two or three bedroom suite-style apartments with a shared kitchenette, bathroom, and a private bedroom.
Upper Year
Undergraduate students in their third year or higher of post-secondary and under the age of 27 have the option of living in furnished studio, one bedroom, two bedroom, and four bedroom units with full kitchens.
Graduate
Graduate students, students that have completed an undergraduate degree or mature students (27+ years old) have the option of living in one bedroom, studio, or two bedroom apartments in Crowsnest Hall.
Family Housing
Residents must reside with a spouse or common-law partner (with or without children), or as a single parent living with children. Applicants must be affiliated with the university.
UCalgary Affiliated
If you are looking for a place to live in Calgary, the university has a home for you. Those with an affiliation to the University of Calgary can apply to either Crowsnest Hall or Family Housing.
Spring/Summer
Residents can stay for one to four months in the spring/summer terms in secure, fully furnished units in Cascade Hall, Glacier Hall, Olympus Hall, Aurora Hall, and Crowsnest Hall.
Tours
Complete our form for a residence only tour and Residence Services will contact you within two business days to finalize your tour. Tours can only be done Monday through Friday.
