For Wi‑Fi issues (UC‑Secure or UC‑Residence), contact UService IT at 403‑210‑9300 or submit a Wi‑Fi issue report using the form below.

To help us resolve your issue more quickly, please include the MAC address of any affected devices, a description of the issue, any relevant screenshots or photos, and your Residence location (including your sub-unit, if applicable).

Getting Connected in Residence

Internet access is included as part of your Residence fees and is available in all Residence buildings.

Residents can connect phones, laptops and other primary devices to UC‑Secure and UC‑Residence. Secondary devices such as Smart TVs, game consoles and wireless printers can be connected to AirUC‑Guest as they cannot connect using login credentials. Depending on your building, wired internet access (Ethernet) may also be available.

Have you Created an IT Account?

The first step in getting internet access is creating a valid IT account. An IT account is your university email address, and will also be used to access services such as your Student Centre and D2L. Most importantly, your IT account provides the login credentials required to access campus networks. We strongly encourage you to create your IT account before your first day in Residence to make getting connected easier.

Please note: the eID account used to submit your admission application is not the same as an IT account.

Students are not permitted to connect personal wireless access points, routers, or similar networking devices to the residence network.

Connecting a wireless access point to an ethernet port violates the University's Computing & Access Policies and may interfere with campus wireless services. It may also provide unauthorized network access to other users.

Students found operating unauthorized networking equipment may have their internet access removed.
