Wired Internet (Ethernet)

Wired Internet (or Ethernet) use a physical cable to connect devices such as laptops, desktops, or game consoles to the internet.

These connections are available to any devices that host an Ethernet port, and are located in any of:

  • International House
  • Aurora Hall
  • Yamnuska Hall
  • Crowsnest Hall

Important Information on Wired Internet in Residence

  • Wired connections should be immediate. That is, once you connect your device to the Ethernet port in your bedroom, the connection should be ready to use automatically.
    • If this is not the case for you, the port might have been deactivated due to prolonged periods of inactivity. Submit an activation request with UService IT below.
  • Ethernet ports can only be activated in the bedrooms of each unit.
    • Ports in shared spaces such as living rooms within a unit, or floor lounges will not be active, and can't be requested for activation.
  • Even though multiple Ethernet ports may be present in your bedroom, only one will be active
  • Decisions for port reactivation are at the discretion of UService IT. We encourage you to use AirUC-Guest on any and all compatible devices, before requesting a wired connection.
