How to pay your fees
The preferred method of payment for tuition and fees is through online banking with a Canadian bank account. Students who do not currently have a Canadian bank account can pay their fees through WU GlobalPay for Students or CIBC International Student Pay.
Online banking is the fastest and preferred method of payment for anyone with a Canadian bank account. Payments are processed through your financial institution. Payments can be made from anyone’s bank account so long as the identifying account information is correct. Funds will be applied to your student account with UCalgary.
Here's how to pay through online banking:
Log on to your bank's online system
Create a payee profile
Add the "University of Calgary - Tuition Fees" as a payee on your bill payment profile (name will vary from bank to bank)
Enter your account information
- The account number is the your eight-digit UCalgary Student ID number (UCID) and the first five letters of your last name.
Examples: If your name is John Jones and your UCID is 00486321 then you'd use 00486321JONES or if your name is Jane Zimmerman and your UCID is 10005238 then you'd use 10005238ZIMME

Allow for processing time
It may take up to five business days for online payments to be processed. Payments initiated on or before the term fee deadline will not be subject to late interest.
Admission deposits must initiated on or before the deposit deadline to ensure your offer of admission is not cancelled.
International funds transfer
If you do not have a Canadian bank account, your tuition and fees can be paid through WU GlobalPay for Students or CIBC International Student Pay. These services allow you to pay your fees in the currency of your choice. Payment by major credit card is also possible through these service providers, with an additional processing fee charged by provider. For bank to bank transfers, there are no additional fees charged in addition to the exchange rate.
How to pay through an international funds transfer:
Select the items you wish to pay for
Select the country that the payment will be originating from, then select the items you wish to pay for and input the amount.
Note: Due to banking regulations, not all currencies are available. If your home currency isn’t offered, you can pay in another currency, such as the U.S. dollar.
Select your method of payment
There are no additional fees for selecting the Bank Transfer / Bank Wire options, aside from the exchange rate. An additional fee of 2.0 – 2.75% will be added to any credit card payments. This fee is placed by the service provider, not the University of Calgary.
Complete the student/payer details and payment
To avoid any delays in processing, please ensure you accurately input the student details.
If using a bank transfer / bank wire option, print off the instructions and bring it to your local bank. They will be able to facilitate the transaction. Alternatively, the transaction can be completed with an online banking service.
If opting to use a credit card, the transaction can be completed entirely online.
Payments take 3 – 5 business days to process and post to your student account.
- Due to the impacts of COVID-19 and limited onsite staff, in person services and payments are currently suspended until further notice. Please do not visit Enrolment Services in person to make or to drop off payment for tuition, fees or admission deposits. Refer to the steps above to pay by online banking, WU GlobalPay for Students, or CIBC International Student Pay.
