Biography

After completing a Bachelor of Science degree in 2014, Neil began his graduate training at the Hotchkiss Brain Institute. He applied both classic and cutting-edge techniques to interrogate a population of neurons in the hypothalamus that coordinates hormonal and behavioral responses to stress. Throughout his post-secondary studies, Neil has been involved in several community initiatives such as Association for the Rehabilitation of the Brain Injured and served as a Director for Accessibility Renovations for Kids. He also created a scholarship for graduate students at UCalgary in honour of his mother, who passed away from cancer in 2016. Neil is currently attending the Cumming School of Medicine and is in the Leaders in Medicine program. He is pursuing a career in neurosurgery.
