Biography
I graduated from Pakistan International School Jeddah – English Section in July of 2024. My school is located in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. For some context, an integral part of my identity revolves around my fervent enthusiasm for leadership roles such as event management, which is a passion that I have meticulously developed over the years. From webbing intricate schedules to crafting smooth timelines, this hobby is not only a source of personal pride but also a field where I find utmost joy in helping those around me. Hence why, during my high school years, I had the opportunity to participate in all extra-curriculars which my school had to offer, and held many leadership positions, such as the elected President of the Literary-Club thrice (Grade 10,11,12), the Head-Boy for my school at Grade 12, the President of the General Assembly for our VII PISJ-ES Model-United-Nations at Grade 12 and the Under-Secretary-General for the VI PISJ-ES Model-United-Nations during Grade 11. Our MUN had 300 delegates for Grade 12 and 200 for Grade 11. I especially remember working on the Grade 12 one, where we revamped our 80-page handbook, added a new UNCWA (United Nations Child Welfare Association) committee and allowed external delegates to participate in our MUN. Keeping up the pace, I was also the Director of the English Boys Play in Grade 12, which was a modern adaptation of Shakespeare's 'King Lear’. The play received acclaim, thanks to its successful and entertaining portrayal. Within the play, I also portrayed as the King of France. Similarly, I portrayed Ron in our Grade 11 play too, which was based on Harry Potter. Next, I was the Venture-Supervisor for a Food-Gala in Grade 12 where we were able to earn substantial profits. At the same event, as President of the Literary Club, I also hosted a Book Fair; and last but not the least on the same Science Exhibition Day I won Gold in the Physics Category for building a Remote Controlled 12V Air Conditioner. I also won Gold previously, in the Grade 11 Science Exhibition for building a Bitcoin Mining Rig as well. Both these exhibition projects took me a year in advance to research on and build. Not only that, but I was also exceptional at reception handling, which is why I was selected as the Lead-Manager for the Farewell-Committee and the Graduation-Reception-Committee to bid farewell to my seniors in Grade 11. I also managed the reception of a world-record fastest cricket-bowler Mr. Shoaib Aktar at my school campus during Grade 12. Moreover, I have also hosted the reception of the Asia Consuls General Club where foreign dignitaries and ambassadors from 10+ Asian countries came in for a cultural event in our school campus during Grade 12. I have been sent as a delegate to the Pakistani Consulate in Jeddah as well, to raise voice on the oppression of the Kashmiri People during Grade 11. Moreover, I was also the Winner for the Parliamentary Debates for Grade 11 and Runner-up for Grade 12. I am also an excellent mentor and as Head Boy have hosted Student Body Workshop events to guide my juniors. As President of the Literary Club, I also published the PISJ-ES Chronicles in Grade 12, a newsletter highlighting all annual school calendar events. I have also done substantial Media Management for my school through 3 Instagram pages, partaking in videography, photography, graphic designing and poster making etc. In essence, my dedication to event management is not merely a hobby but a passion that I am eager to share, leveraging my experience to teach and inspire those around me. My hobbies didn’t stop at high school either; at UCalgary, I manage an Internal Position at the Pakistani Student Society, a Delegate Position at Enactus Marketing and am on the Software Sub Team at UCalgary Baja SAE. The opportunity to coordinate with diverse individuals, tackle new challenges, forge meaningful connections, and exercise infinite creative freedom in shaping successful events is a pursuit that resonates deeply with my values and aspirations.
Computer Science was something which was always a hobby from me, right from the beginning quite literally. It was so different that I had chosen CS as my career path in Grade 4 when I got my first computer; and it only exploded from there. For example, my Science Exhibition Projects were as follows; in Grade 9 I built an Introduction to Arduino model and won Gold, in Grade 10, I followed on the same principle and coded an Arduino Ultrasonic Self-Controlled Car and lastly in Grade 11, I built an industrial Bitcoin Mining Rig with custom software and hardware-level mods which also won Gold. I also received a Distinction in Computer Science in Grade 10 in my high school PISJ-ES. I am really interested in coding, specifically in the field of bug-finding and error testing. I hope to yearn towards this hobby into something like game development or cybersecurity. In essence, I basically want to fulfill and make the middle school version of myself proud by becoming a Software Engineer and fulfilling his dream.
Upon graduating from the University of Calgary, my aspiration is to contribute meaningfully to the Calgary community through focused impact. As a Computer Science graduate, I would aim to harness my skills and knowledge to lead technological initiatives that address local challenges. Additionally, I am committed to actively engaging in local volunteering efforts and mentoring junior peers to achieve academic success. An important notion for making a lasting impact involves immersing myself in community-driven technology projects. Collaborating with local organizations, I aim to deploy my expertise in developing innovative solutions that enhance efficiency, accessibility, and inclusivity in this city. Whether through educational programs, healthcare advancements, or sustainable development, I envision technology as a catalyst for positive transformation within the community. I do intend to purse a Master’s in Computer Science, and who knows, maybe even a PhD… The end goal is to become the best version of myself in a specific field, dedicated to its wellbeing. Becoming part of the UCalgary Alumni, I would aim to represent the university with pride and dedication.
My biggest source of inspiration has always been my parents, their work-home life balance and upbringing, allowed for my success. Moreover, I graciously thank my high school PISJ-ES for all the opportunities it has provided me with.
