Biography

Eric is enrolled in Engineering at the Schulich School of Engineering. He chose this program because he has a strong interest in math and science, and also enjoys using his skills and logic to solve problems. He hopes to combine his passions for environmentalism and the skills gained from engineering to develop new technologies to reduce our impact on the environment and lower our dependence on fossil fuels to make a difference in the world.

Eric graduated from John G. Diefenbaker High School in Calgary, AB. His top three achievements in high school are being voted President of the school’s Green Chiefs Environmental Club, receiving the Outstanding Service Award at his school, and completing the gold level of the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

He chose to study at the University of Calgary because the Schulich School of Engineering offers a fantastic opportunity to learn from professors and peers, and gives access to facilities that will greatly enhance his education. The University of Calgary is actively involved within the City of Calgary and Eric is excited to join the thriving campus community.

For Eric, this award will alleviate the financial stress associated with University, and will allow him to focus on his academics while still having time and money for extracurricular activities such as intramurals, clubs, travel, and new experiences. Eric is extremely honoured and thankful to receive the Seymour Schulich Academic Entrance Scholarship.
