Biography

Ajay is currently enrolled in engineering, hoping to pursue software engineering. He has always been fascinated by the massive impact software has had on society. He wants to use software and his entrepreneurial skills to make a positive impact on the world. After completing his degree, he wants to gain industry experience by joining local startups to learn how they operate and grow. Eventually, using his software degree and entrepreneurial skills, he hopes to bring positive change by founding his own startup.

Ajay graduated from Blue Valley North (Overland Park, Kansas) High school. During his high school years, his top three achievements were becoming founder of the Technology Student Association chapter at his school, founding and coaching two FIRST Lego League Robotics Teams, and graduating high school with a Summa Cum Laude Distinction.

While the University of Calgary is a highly respected educational institution with a reputable engineering program, he primarily chose the University of Calgary for its heavy focus on entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial thinking. He was amazed by the university's efforts to support student entrepreneurs through programs such as Launchpad and Creative Destruction Labs. He believes the entrepreneurship programs available here will help him convert his entrepreneurial ideas into impactful endeavors. A couple of months after he started his first year here, he joined the Launchpad program to learn more about entrepreneurship and develop business skills to support his Hydroponics Startup.

This award allows him to grow his network by connecting with other Schulich Scholars and upper-year mentors. He is extremely grateful for receiving this award, as the financial aid it offers allows him to focus on academics and his entrepreneurial goals.
