Biography

Shannon graduated from Vista Virtual School and Westmount Charter School in Calgary, AB. While there, she joined the Minister’s Youth Council and volunteered for over 300 hours at various organizations.

Shannon chose to study at UCalgary for her undergraduate studies because of its reputation as Canada’s top entrepreneurial university and as a bustling hub for cutting-edge research.

Shannon is in the Bachelor of Science – Engineering program. She chose this program because of the positive impact she can have on her community by becoming an engineer.

In the future, Shannon hopes to be at the forefront of the latest engineering technologies and contribute to new development in machine learning.

For Shannon, the Prestige Award allows her to focus on her studies and her passion for community service.

Shannon is interested in exploring sustainability in engineering and how current manufacturing processes can be improved for the betterment of the environment.
