Service offerings during COVID-19
To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, Student Wellness Services is currently offering remote services only.
If you are not already connected to our clinic or have a new concern, please call 811 or consult the Alberta Health Services website to find an available healthcare centre. Urgent Care Centres remain open to address urgent health issues.
If you're a UCalgary student, call 403.210.9355 to arrange a virtual appointment. A physician will call you back at your appointment time. Students from out-of-province must arrange for Alberta Health Care coverage before making an appointment (view more info below).

Incoming medical and nursing students
Health science pre-program immunization consultation:
Please call 403.210.9355 and select option 4 to request an immunization appointment.The first appointment will be virtual (Microsoft Teams Application) to review requirements and necessary documentation. Immunization appointments will commence after June 15. Full information will be provided in advance of each appointment.

Services for faculty, staff and postdoctoral scholars
Ready to book an appointment? Here’s some useful information before you book.
Please arrive 10 minutes early for your appointment to fill out any forms. Bring your identification, provincial health care card, and any extended insurance coverage.
How to book
Call us at 403-210-9355 to book an appointment. Chose option #2 for mental health appointments.
Chose option #3 for physical health services – including medical, chiropractic and massage appointments.
To avoid fees, please give one full business days’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment.

Forms and fees
You can download and fill out intake forms before your appointment.
Most of our medical and mental health services are covered by provincial health care.
Nutrition, massage and chiropractic appointments have reasonable fees.
Any uninsured services (sick note, third party medical, etc.) also have fees.
Our clinic accepts Visa, Mastercard, debit and cheque as forms of payment.
Students without valid medical insurance can still access services, such as psychiatry, for a fee.
Student health plans
Undergraduate students are automatically enrolled in the health and dental plan through the Students’ Union.
Graduate students have their health and dental plan through the Graduate Students’ Union.
International UCalgary students should verify they have valid medical insurance.
Students from out-of-province must arrange for Alberta Health Care coverage before making an appointment. Out of province billings are not permitted for virtual care visits unless you are a Northwest Territories resident. To ensure your visit is covered, please set up with Alberta Health.
If you are in the process of registering with Alberta Health and unable to pay the fee for the visit, please contact 811 to see if there is a clinic near you to be seen in person so you can ensure coverage.

We all need support. There are on- and off-campus services that can provide you with the support you need no matter what challenges you’re facing.
Responding with care and concern is the best way to help someone deal with challenges causing them distress.
If you call after hours, you can talk to a crisis counsellor from Wood’s Homes, or a highly trained volunteer at the Distress Centre (available in more than 200 languages). Call 403-210-9355.
