Longtime Japanese instructor Fumiko “Miko” Summerell, Department of Linguistics, Languages and Cultures, Faculty of Arts, passed away March 20, at the age of 60, after a courageous battle with acute leukemia. A celebration of Miko’s life will be held at McInnis & Holloway’s Park Memorial Chapel Saturday, March 29, at 2 p.m.

The Canadian flag may be half-masted as a sign of mourning for a member of the University of Calgary community. As well, memoriams may be posted on the university's website. Please send the memorial information and photo to comms@ucalgary.ca.
