FAQ's - Parking

Employees with standard annual permits are able to manage the vehicles on their permit through the Parking Portal

  • Login using your IT username and password.
  • Click on "Vehicles" from the side menu.
  • Select "Permanent Replacement" to remove the license plate and replace it with another or select "Remove from Permits" if you no longer own the vehicle.
  • If you need to add an additional vehicle to your permit, taking full responsibility for any tickets issued to that vehicle, select "Add a new Vehicle" which is located in the upper right hand corner under the Logout button.

Emailed confirmation will be sent.

Removing a vehicle from a permit does not remove any tickets that were issued to that vehicle during the time it was listed on the permit.

To apply for an annual (12 month) parking permit, please contact our office with your university ID number. If you are an undergraduate student, you may want to consider semester parking as you will be waiting about 3 - 5 years for an annual parking space.

Semester parking for McMahon Stadium and the Art Parkade are sold on a first come, first serve basis. Check parking permits for what is currently available. We do not take waiting lists for these lots.

Yes, your permit is refundable.

  • Permit returned by the 3rd working day of the month - refund current month + remaining months
  • Permit returned by the 15th of the month - refund ½ current month + remaining months
  • Permit returned on the 16th day of the month or later - no refund current month, refund for remaining full months only

Any time this occurs, contact our office at (403) 220-6771 with your license plate number and we will gladly put you in the computer system as safe for the day. Should you neglect to call, it may result in a ticket.

This procedure does not apply to customers with Rover or NPR Art permits. If these customers forget their permit, they must pay to park.

The best thing to do is to contact our office with your license plate number and location of your vehicle. This one small step may prevent your vehicle from being ticketed or towed. We also have a motorist assistance program and will provide boosts, air inflation for tires, gas line antifreeze and lock de-icing.

If you are legally parked and have consumed alcohol, you may leave your vehicle where it is overnight. Vehicles left for this reason must be removed by 9 a.m. the next morning. Try to contact our office as soon as possible to ensure your vehicle is safe.

If you believe a ticket issued to you was unjustified, please click here for more information on the Grounds for Appeal and the process.

Employees with standard annual permits can add a temporary vehicle to their permit for up to 14 days through the Parking Portal.

  • Login using your IT username and password.
  • Click on "Vehicles" on the side menu.
  • Locate the vehicle that is being temporarily replaced by the rental/courtesy vehicle.
  • Click on "Temporary Replacement"
  • Follow prompts to enter the replacement vehicle information.

An emailed confirmation will be sent.

The permit holder is responsible for any violations issued to the vehicle while it is added to the permit.  Please ensure that temporary coverage is canceled should the rental or courtesy vehicle be returned early.  This can be done by selecting "Cancel" under the Active Vehicle Substitutions section in the Parking Portal .
