Recreational Outdoor Soccer

Play the worlds favorite game! World Cup 2022 is this summer (fall).

Recreational soccer will feature teams that may have some skilled players, but also many inexperienced players and the team as a whole is just in it for the fun.  Teams in these divisions must have a “fun first” approach to every game.  Emphasis is on fun and sportsmanship.  There are no officials or standings in the recreational leagues.  Mixed recreational soccer leagues have gender minimums. Traditional format is 9/2 for 11 a side soccer. Our recreational soccer leagues are geared for sportsmanship, with an emphasis on fun over competition. Intramurals offers leagues on various days, choose the one that suits you and your team best. 

Spring/Summer 2022
- Fees, work out to approx. $4 per player / per game based on a 16 player roster. 
-Teams will be scheduled for 11 games
- Games canceled due to defaults are not eligible for reschedule.
- Rainouts will most likely be scheduled on weekends, between 10am - 2pm, but all attempts to schedule on weeknights will be made.

- All participants must complete the sport specific waiver, this will be on your active living profile once you have added to the roster by your captain, before you will be allowed to participate. NO WAIVER NO PLAY POLICY WILL BE STRICKLY ENFORCED.  Paper and electronic copies will not be accepted.

All players must not attend if feeling unwell. 


Mixed teams are required to have a minimum of 2 players of the opposite gender on the field.  For outdoor soccer the format is traditionaly a 9/2 format.


Spring/Summer leagues will be on  Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. 
 
Fall leagues will be scheduled for 8 games on our Monday/Wednesday league.

Intramurals will have on onsite supervisor/first aid person present. There are no officials, standings or playoffs in these leagues. 

Mens Competitive Indoor Soccer

Intramural Sports provides a many different options for soccer, competitive mixed and men's soccer league for those players looking for a more challenging game or recreational leagues for those that want fun over competition. Mixed Teams are required to have at least 2 players of the opposite gender on the field at all times. Competitive Leagues include Team Standings & Playoffs.

Important Information for Participants:

Vaccination Policy: Effective January 1, 2022, all students, staff, faculty, and visitors to campus age 12 and over are expected to show: 
Proof of fully vaccinated status (approved by World Health Organization) Valid Alberta proof of vaccination will be the Alberta vaccine records with the QR code.

Mask Policy: To promote a healthy environment on campus, non-medical face masks must now be worn in all public indoor areas where physical distancing is not possible. Participants will be required to wear a mask up to the start, and after of their activity.

Participants must not attend class if they are sick, or a member of their household is sick, even if symptoms resemble a mild cold. Symptoms to look for include: fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, runny nose, nasal congestion, headache, and a general feeling of being unwell.

New policies in place for the fall 2021.  Please read the list carefully as we wish to still provide you with the best and safest way to play.
-All teams are required to provide their own set of jersyes. (Competitive Leagues) prefered with numbers, this can be a set of pinnies, set of same colour shirts, or jerseys.  Intramurals is trying minimize contact points between participants and staff. 
-Rostered players will only be allowed to register on team per league.  Players may not play on multiple teams in the same sport.  
-Only 16 players on your roster will be allowed to dress for games.
-Spectators will not be allowed

It's time to show off those gaming skills! UCalgary Intramurals has launched Esports, connecting the UCalgary community to a series of sport-theme virtual gaming. Play for the glory, the bragging rights, and the coveted Intramurals championship buff!
Intramural Esports is a student-led program under Active Living with the goal of building a community for gamers across campus and beyond, as well as leveraging that community to help turn UCalgary into an esports powerhouse. Active Living's transition to a remote offering has given us the perfect opportunity to realize this vision! Help us build towards setting up an on-campus gaming lounge, sending varsity teams to compete across Canada, and offering competitive scholarships for esports athletes.

We will be using the GYO Score gaming platform, they will be housing all of our leagues and tournaments.

How to Register
To register for any UCalgary E-Sports,
1. Register under the esports intramural leagues and complete the online waiver.
2. Register with GYOScore (our gaming platform), you will need to create an account with them (once you have it created you can skip this step for the next game you play). Your username can be your gamer tag. Must provide a ucalgary email address to verify you are a UCalgary student.
