Steps to apply

Based on where you completed high school, follow these steps to apply:

Studied in Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, or Yukon

Applications are open Oct. 1 to March 1.

You can start your application on the ApplyAlberta website, complete your profile, and select "University of Calgary."

Students applying from a BC or Saskatchewan high school:

  • A Basic Alberta.ca Account is all you need for ApplyAlberta. If you see a prompt to Confirm ID or create a Verified Account, do not click “Verify Account.” The step requires an Alberta driver’s license and isn’t needed. Instead, head to ApplyAlberta.ca and login to begin your application.

  • Enter your Alberta.ca account login details to continue. Please ensure you include your provincial student number (Saskatchewan Learning ID, BC Personal Education Number, etc.) when inputting previous high school information. This will ensure your transcript is correctly matched with your application when you send it through the relevant transcript service.

  • We recommend sharing your transcripts to ApplyAlberta after you apply to the University of Calgary.

As part of the application, you'll be asked to enter or create a UCalgary eID. You'll use your eID to log in to your application and then to access your Student Centre once you've applied.
