In this evening lecture, we'll cover snowshoeing basics: how to select and fit snowshoes, the best clothing and footwear for winter sport, essential day pack contents, safety concerns and where to go. Prerequisite: none. Includes: instructor.
Snowshoe Sampler
Dip your toe into snowshoeing this winter, and discover a great new winter hobby.
This 2-hour afternoon course will introduce you to snowshoeing as a winter activity and cover the basic skills and knowledge to get out on your own, or build up to our full-day programs.
Meet your guide in a city park and enjoy the snow while talking about clothing, equipment, and techniques.

Discover Snowshoeing Series
Become a confident snowshoer in 3 weekends. In this series you'll get the Introduction to Snowshoeing lecture, and 3 snowshoe day trips with our experienced guides that progress in difficulty from week-to-week.
All trips cover safety guidelines, instruction on travel skills in different terrain, and interpretive information on the area. Trips are either on Saturday or Sunday.
Due to current COVID-19 distancing practices, all trips meet at trailheads in Kananaskis. Prerequisite: none. Includes: guide, snowshoes.
Outdoor Winter Break Camp
Spend the winter holiday having fun and playing in the snow! We plan to drive to Kananaskis for 2 days of snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and building snow forts. The other 2 days will be spent bouldering and/or wall climbing, swimming, building snow forts and more!
