Dr. Ed McCauley

The Office of the Vice-President (Research) is guided by a goal to fulfill five strategic objectives:

The Office of the Vice-President (Research) engages on a daily basis with all aspects of the campus community. The scope of portfolio includes:

Working with academic community through advisory committees:

    • Associate Dean’s Research Council (ADRC) and ADRC Executive
    • Research Development Policy Committee (RDPC)
    • Dean’s Council
    • Strategic Research Council of the Faculty of Medicine
    • SUPPORT and SUPPORT sub-committees
    • USER Task Force
    • Chair and Professorship Advisory Committees
    • Communications
    • Identification and assistance with fundraising priority areas

Collaborating with university units through operations and oversight committees

    • Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and ELT Operations
    • Campus Strategic Initiatives Group (CSIG)

Oversight of Research Services Office (RSO)

    • Research RSO-ADRC advisory committee
    • Human Ethics, Animal Welfare and Biohazard committees
    • Innovate Calgary

The Office of the Vice-President (Research) engages with all aspects of the campus community through an organizational model that ensures the office remains deeply connected to active discovery, innovation, and service.
