is Associate Professor, Canadian Studies and Film Studies, Faculty of Arts, Department of Communication and Culture, University of Calgary. He is pleased to announce the publication of two scholarly articles in Peace Studies in 2010. "The Word 'Terrorism' and its Impact on Public Consciousness" was published in Karim-Aly Kassam, ed. Understanding Terrorism: Perspectives for Canadians
(University of Calgary Press) and "The Saint and the Professor: Integrating Nationalism and Religious Thoughts in the Writings of Gandhi and Grant" in Arati Barua ed. Gandhi and Grant: Their Philosphical Affinities (Delhi: Academic Excellence).
He is also the co-editor of Canada and September 11th: Impact and Response
(2002) and editor of Canada and the New American Empire: War and Anti-War
(2004). His most recent paper in Peace Studies is titled "Canada and Afghanistan: Peacemaking as Counterinsurgency Warfare--A Conflict in Terms" (2009). He is currently working on a new edited volume titled "Afghanistan and War: A Peace Perspective" scheduled for 2011 publication. In addition he is the General Editor of the Global Peace Studies (GPS) Series
