Abstract:

The Internet of Things (IoT) is the concept of connecting any type of devices to the Internet. This includes cellphones, washing machines, thermostats, wearable devices, industrial machinery, etc. This concept has caught the attention of numerous companies who are trying to come up with their own solutions for the different vertical markets of IoT such as: Home Automation, Automotive, Healthcare and Manufacturing. In this presentation, I will talk about three of the many different types of middleware architectures used to enable devices to communicate to one another, even under very constrained environments.
