Welcome to your New Career at the University of Calgary!
We hope you will have a positive, rewarding and engaging experience in your career with the University. Below are the key first steps you need to take in order to get set up.
When you are set up in our HR system, you will be assigned a University of Calgary ID (UCID) number. Please ensure your hiring manager has your personal email address so that your UCID number can be sent to you by email.
If you were not directed to this web page by your onboarding coordinator or hiring manager, please connect with one of them to get your UCID number, which you will need before proceeding to the next step.
Once your Employee ID (UCID) number is provided to you, you will need to set up an IT account to access your email (through Outlook), D2L, SharePoint, personal files, and group shares.
- CLICK HERE to Register online for your IT Account and follow the instructions. You will be asked to provide your UCID number.
As part of the IT Account Registration process, the system will generate a University of Calgary email address for you. Please take note of your IT Username, as it will be your primary identifier for signing into most university systems.
Once you’ve created your email and IT account you will be given an IT Username. Contact your Manager and provide them with your username. This is required so they can set up other access that you will need on your first day.
Now that you have an IT account, you can begin many of the activities required to prepare you for your first day.
Your new IT account will be registered in our Enterprise PeopleSoft system in an overnight process so that you will have basic access to our HR system tomorrow. This basic access will enable you to input your direct deposit information and update your personal information. However, you can continue with many of the other activities on your checklist today, as they do not require access to PeopleSoft.
- If you arrived at this page through a link from your onboarding checklist, please return and continue with the next activity.
- If you did not arrive at this page from your onboarding checklist, please go to the Onboarding website and select the appropriate onboarding checklist to continue. This checklist will help you get prepared for your first day, as well as guide you through other information and key activities that you may need to know or do after you get started.
