Reporting an alleged incident of Student Non-Academic Misconduct?
Key Resources
Sexual Violence Support
If you have experienced sexual violence, our Sexual Violence Support Advocate (Carla Bertsch) can provide support and resources, and can provide confidential advice related to your reporting options. Carla is also available to accompany you to any investigative meetings. Carla can be reached by email or phone at 403-220-2208.
Student Wellness Services
We recognize that involvement in misconduct can be stressful for both the complainant and the respondent. If you are in need of wellness supports as a result of involvement in a student misconduct matter, you may contact Kevin Wiens, Manager of Student Wellness Support by email klwiens@ucalgary.ca or phone at 403-220-4829. You may also contact Student Wellness Services directly at 403-210-9355.
Student Ombuds Office
The Student Ombuds can support any student who has experienced misconduct by offering confidential, neutral support. The Student Ombuds often accompanies the respondent to their hearing in the advisor role, and can serve as a support in helping respondents understand the student non-academic misconduct process and/or the appeal process. You may contact the Student Ombuds, Jeff Stransky, by email at ombuds@ucalgary.ca, or phone at 403-220-6420
Campus Security
The Student Conduct Office often works in cooperation with Campus Security, and although reports can be submitted directly to our office (online or in-person), you may submit a report to Campus Security officers 24/7. Campus Security (or 911) should be your first contact if there is an urgent safety concern related to the matter of misconduct you are experiencing.
