For the upcoming competition, applicants must have earned their PhD, MD or equivalent degree for less than three years by 1 September of the competition year. If degree is still pending, it must be completed before 30 September of the competition year. Preference will be given to candidates who have received some of their education at other institutions.
The successful candidate must carry out a program of independent research, present one or more departmental seminars for students and faculty, and contribute on an informal basis to other departmental activities. Research must focus on the development or implementation of imaging science with direct relevance to medical imaging applications.
Postdoctoral scholars are encouraged to apply for awards from provincial, national or international agencies. However, a postdoctoral scholar cannot hold a full T. Chen Fong Postdoctoral Fellowship in Medical Imaging Science with another award. If an applicant receives external funding/fellowship(s), the value of the T. Chen Fong Postdoctoral Fellowship in Medical Imaging Science will be the difference between the full fellowship ($60,000) and the external funding/fellowship(s). All other conditions follow the University of Calgary postdoctoral policy and procedures, as approved by the Vice-President (Research).
Citizenship is unrestricted.
