Domestic Recruitment Team
Alison is the Recruitment Advisor for Calgary and supports all Calgary high school applicants. Born and raised in Calgary, Alison enjoys spending time in Fish Creek Park and taking day trips to the Rocky Mountains. She is a proud University of Calgary Alumni, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Communication and Media Studies. She worked throughout her degree on Campus filming Dinos Sporting events. Alison’s one piece of advice for future students is to go cheer on your Calgary Dinos! No matter the sport, supporting your fellow Dinos is a great way to meet new people and grow your school pride; plus it’s free for UCalgary students to attend.

Jackie is the Community Liaison Advisor for new immigrant families for the Calgary area and supports new Canadians with the quest for learning. Jackie graduated from Seneca College in Toronto with a Post-Diploma in Human Resources and a Diploma in Business, working in Toronto and Victoria before becoming a Career Practitioner with the Calgary Board of Education at Bowness, Crescent Heights High School and Western Canada High School. Jackie has helped many students find their path to higher education over the years. Jackie is familiar with the many programs that University of Calgary offers, her motto is that it is all about the students.

Sarah is the Indigenous Recruitment Advisor for Indigenous students across Canada. Sarah graduated from the University of British Columbia Okanagan Campus where she studied Indigenous Studies and Gender and Women Studies. She recently moved to Calgary and enjoys the sunshine and mountain views that Calgary has to offer. The best piece of advice she could give to students is to not be afraid to change your mind on program choices and to take advantage of the study abroad opportunities the university offers.

Gillian is the Recruitment Advisor for Alberta and British Columbia (Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island). She is a recent graduate from the Haskayne School of Business, majoring in International Business at the University of Calgary. Gillian would like to share her university experiences with students and ensure their transition from high school to post-secondary studies is easy and enjoyable. Her advice for new students would be to always try new things, make an effort to connect with people and build strong relationships.
Emma is the Recruitment Advisor several parts of BC (Northern BC, the Okanagan, and the Kootenays) and also support students from Saskatchewan. She was born and raised in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia. She then moved to Alberta to attend the University of Calgary to work towards receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a minor in Management and Society. Emma’s advice is to get involved on campus and one of the best ways to do so is to live in residence. Residence creates opportunities to find new passions as well as to meet your closest friends!
Daniel is the Recruitment Advisor for Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, and the East Coast. He is a Kinesiology graduate from Ontario who moved to Calgary two years ago and fit right into the Alberta lifestyle. The best piece of advice he could give to students when considering post-secondary education is to be open-minded and look at all the options that are available to them so they can make an educated decision.

International Recruitment Team
Aggie is the Recruitment Advisor responsible for the Asia and Oceania regions. She studied Psychology as a major and Japanese language and literature as a minor at the University of Alberta. Aggie wishes she knew how challenging the transition from high school to university would be. Her advice to prospective students: instead of worrying about being the smartest person in the room, strive to be the most prepared person in the room.

Ashley is the Recruitment Advisor for Europe, India, and the United States. After years of study in forestry, geology and business, Ashley graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Multidisciplinary in Communication and Culture from the University of Calgary. If Ashley could offer one piece of advice to future students, she would recommend living in first-year residence. Living on campus is more than a short commute to classes — it is a springboard to making lifelong connections.

Madi is the Recruitment Advisor for the Latin American and Caribbean regions. She is a proud alumna of UCalgary graduating with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in International Relations and minoring in Political Sciences and Italian Studies. She was also able to complete a semester abroad in Italy. Madi’s one piece of advice for any future students is to take advantages of the Study Abroad opportunities that the University of Calgary offers, since these experiences are going to have an immense positive impact in your personal and professional life.

Zainab is the Recruitment Advisor for Africa and the Middle East. Zainab is a proud alumna of the University of Calgary. Graduating with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in International Relations, she was able to travel to Turkey for a semester to finish her degree. Zainab’s one piece of advice for any future students is to get involved. This is the best way to meet people with the same interests as you, ensure your university experience will be a great one, and to learn collaboration and communication skills.
Steven is the Manager of Recruitment (National and International) for the University of Calgary.
He is an alumnus of the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Steven is also currently pursuing his Master of Education (Post-Secondary Studies). Looking back on his university experience, Steven wishes that he were more aware of the exchange and cooperative education opportunities that were available to him.

Jordy is the Coordinator of Future Student Events and Campus Tours. Jordy is originally from Ontario and grew up in Kelowna before moving to the University of Calgary to study Communications and Business. One of the many highlights from her time spent at the University would be living in first year Residence. Jordy encourages any future student to live in residence, as it is a great opportunity to join a community of exciting new people to have last-minute study sessions with or share family dinners together.

Max is the Recruitment Advisor for everything digital. Max is a proud alumna of the University of Calgary graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications Studies, and is currently the play-by-play broadcaster for the Dinos women’s hockey team on the side. Max’s main piece of advice to any future students would be to work while you study. Working is a great way to save money, meet interesting people and make valuable connections that will help you launch into your life after post-secondary.
