The first issue of the PDAC pulse is now online!

Last month we alerted you of the re-launch of the postdoctoral newsletter and issued a naming contest. We are happy to announce that the first issue of the PDAC pulse is now online. The naming contest was won by Ryan Cunnington who as evidenced by the photo received his well deserved gift.

PDAC is on Facebook

The inevitable has happened: The PDAC Facebook page has appeared with some photos, news, and general info. If you are on Facebook why not take a look at the PDAC page and 'like' us so that you are alerted of events and news from your organisation here on campus. Feel free to post any questions relating to postdoctoral or campus life issues and we or any others with relevant info can try to answer you.

University offers full employee assistance program to postdocs

The UofC is now offering access to Lifeworks, it's employee assistance benefit, to all postdoctoral trainees. The program can be offer assistance in a wide variety of areas from health to family to personal finance. Angela Vinturache, PDAC President, said in an article for UToday, “Such enterprises foster a positive environment that not only nurtures thoughtful and innovative ideas, but also impacts quality of life of the trainees, increasing the attractiveness of our university as a place where postdoctoral scholars can achieve their personal and career aspirations."
