Biography

"Change takes courage" - Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

Natasia has been interested in healthcare her entire life. As a competitive athlete, she learned from a young age the importance of physical and mental health on overall wellness. Natasia figure skated competitively for over 10 years before switching to biathlon in high school. During her six years as a biathlete, she represented Team Ontario at Canadian Nationals as well as Team Canada at World Youth Championships. Natasia currently races ultra-marathons in her solo canoe.



Natasia is passionate about empowering kids to be active and get outside. She believes in the importance of nature, play, and sport to maintain health and wellness. She has coached numerous different sports, and loves to be a mentor for young athletes. Natasia recently completed the Canadian Outdoor Leadership Program, where she strengthened her leadership and team functioning skills.



As a nursing student, Natasia believes that a strong universal healthcare system is essential for the wellbeing of our society, and hopes to help strengthen and expand this system. She volunteers on political campaigns and plans to develop healthcare policy to create systemic change that will make healthcare more inclusive and holistic. Natasia promotes equity for marginalized groups, including women, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and Indigenous Canadians. She pursues additional education courses outside of university to increase her knowledge and competence in this area. Natasia is excited to continue listening to and learning from others in her nursing and political work, and to contribute to making Canadian healthcare more sustainable, comprehensive, and high quality.
