A message from Dr. Michael Hart, UCalgary’s Vice-Provost (Indigenous Engagement):
As we implement the Indigenous strategy and engage with Indigenous peoples and communities, we recognize the need to develop a greater understanding of those on parallel paths to our own. Unless we take the time to learn from the experiences of others, we will not be well positioned to find those points of contact where we can share understandings and better develop and connect in ethical spaces for all involved. The Office of Indigenous Engagement encourages everyone to engage in the opportunities to learn, understand and grow through the many events and programming that will be taking place during Black History Month.
