To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, only people who need to be on campus should be on campus, such as staff members whose work on campus is essential. Food and coffee outlets are closed, and study spaces aren’t accessible. All library locations and computer labs are closed.

Because in-person classes are not taking place on campus for the spring/summer term, UPass will not be available. Students will not be charged a UPass fee for the spring/summer term.

If you require access to Calgary Transit, you will need to purchase your pass directly from Calgary Transit or a retailer. Information on availability of passes can be found on the Calgary Transit website

For undergraduate students, general fees for this year’s spring/summer term will be assessed using the online/distance rates (provided in the general fees chart in the Academic Calendar), which don’t include the UPass or Campus Recreation fee.

Note that graduate students will also not be charged the UPass or Campus Recreation fees for the spring/summer term.

Grades for the spring/summer term will be assessed as per the approved grading scheme for the course. CR/F grades will only be used if the Calendar course description indicates “Not Included in GPA.” You can view Calendar course descriptions here.

This will depend on the course. Some courses may have a scheduled final examination. A final exam schedule will be provided for the spring/summer term as per usual.

Due to the nature of some courses (e.g., field schools, group study program, etc.), there may be some course changes. Departments/Faculties will directly notify students of any course changes to the spring/summer term.

No, you aren’t required to stay in Calgary. However, your courses will require you to engage with learning materials, activities and assignments, so ensure you have access to reliable wi-fi and consider any time differences if the classes you’re enrolled in are to be held at regularly scheduled times.

Once you receive your course outlines, please review the delivery methods and assessments to determine whether your accommodations need to be updated. If revisions are required, please contact your advisor in Student Accessibility Services.

Details about technology requirements for a course will be provided in the course outline. Please ensure you check D2L and your UCalgary email account for updates.
