Isla Shill

Isla Shill is a MSc student under the supervision of Dr. Carolyn Emery in the Sport Injury Prevention Research Centre. She graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology with Distinction in 2019. Throughout her undergraduate degree, she was a research assistant in SIPRC and assisted on numerous projects, such as iSprint and the PrE-OA Ankle study. She recently wrapped up her five years on the U of C Women’s Varsity Rugby team and has had the privilege to coach several high school and youth club rugby teams in the city of Calgary.

Combining her passion for rugby with her research, Isla’s PhD will look at evaluating injury prevention strategies in high school female rugby, such as an evidence-supported rugby-specific neuromuscular training warm-up.
