  • Cross the push leg in front of the lead leg, and cross the push leg behind the lead leg.
    • Can be done with push steps alternating front and behind, or can be done will all steps forward or all steps behind
  • Soft bend at hips and knees
  • Knees stacked over ankle
  • Toes, knees and hips facing forward relative to trunk position
  • Absorb landing from ball of the foot to heel
  • Knee caving in on change of direction
    • Cue “Knee over pinky toe”
  • Turning hips or shoulders towards direction of movement
    • Cue “Square to line”
  • Increases heart and breathing rates
  • Movement in the frontal plane (sideways)
  • Incorporates a change of direction movement
  • Challenges coordination of the arm & leg
