  • Player runs away from supporting partner as supporting partner tosses ball up and in front of player
  • Player uses head motion to watch the arc of the ball
  • Player cuts back to trap the ball, facing the opposite direction as their run (back towards their supporting partner)
  • Turning head in same direction as body
    • Cue "Don't take your eyes off the ball"
  • Ball tracking movements train the vestibulo ocular system
  • Sport-specific drill to prepare for the session
  • Higher-intensity drill to increase heart and breathing rates prior to the beginning of the practice/game
