  • Soft bend at knees and hips
  • Knees pushed out over pinky toe
  • Partners coordinate jump timing to contact one another at shoulder-to-shoulder while they are in the air
    • Keep elbows tight to body during jump
  • Absorb each landing from the ball of the foot to the heel
  • Arms will swing forward in coordination with each jump
  • Excessive force from partner contact that pushes the athlete too far off balance that they cannot recover, or that causes the athlete to be in an unsafe position
    • Cue "Slight contact"
    • Educate partner about the importance of safety of teammates
  • Knee collapsing inward
    • Cue "Drive knee out towards pinky toe"
    • Cue “Squeeze glutes”
  • Straight, locked knee
    • Cue “Soft knee bend”
    • Cue “Sit back slightly”
  • Not fully absorbing landing back to heels
    • Cue “Land softly and quietly”
  • Reinforces soft landing technique
  • Develops knee control
  • Prepares athlete for uncontrolled landings that could occur in game
