  • Use the full width of the channel to run in an 'S-shape' by alternating swerving left to right
  • To initiate swerve at edge of channel, keep weight on inside foot and swing outside leg across the body
  • Relaxed running technique
  • Arms move forward with opposing leg; movement is initiated from the shoulder 
  • Elbows flexed at 90-degrees
  • Lazy arms
    • Cue "Swing from the shoulder"
    • Cue "Drive elbows back"
  • Increases heart and breathing rates to prepare body for the warm-up exercises that follow
  • Non-linear running pattern often used in sport
