  • Knee stacked over ankle
  • Rotate to the side of the front leg (helps reinforce good knee positioning)
  • Both feet pointing forward
  • Torso upright
  • 90-degree angle at both front and back knee
  • Keep the back knee raised slightly above the ice
  • Knee collapsing inward
    • Cue "Look down: Can you see the inside of your front skate (arch)?"
    • Cue "Push knee out towards pinky toe"
    • Cue "Rotate to the side of the front leg"
  • Back foot twisting
    • Cue "Point toes straight ahead", "Keep hips square"
  • Rotating too quickly
    • Cue "Rotate as you descend towards the ice"
