  • Keep neutral head/neck position throughout the exercise "Stand up tall"
  • Keep elbow tucked in to side
  • Engage core to maintain upright position
  • Ensure exercise is performed for each shoulder
  • Excessive force from partner contact that pushes the athlete too far off balance that they cannot recover, or that causes the athlete to be in an unsafe position
    • Cue "Slight contact"
    • Educate partner about the importance of safety of teammates
  • Elbows out
    • Cue "Touch your elbow to your hip"
  • Dynamic exercise involving contact
  • Increases heart and breathing rates to prepare body for the warm-up exercises that follow
