  • From a forward run, decelerate and transitionin from a forward into a backward direction (and vice versa) at designated cones without coming to a full stop
  • Soft bend at hips and knees at deceleration
  • Knees stacked over ankle when decelerating and accelerating
  • Trunk angle similar to shin angle
  • Knee caving in on deceleration
    • Cue “Knee over pinky toe”
  • Staying upright during deceleration and acceleration
    • Cue "Lean forward"
  • Incorporates a change of direction movement (forwards/backwards), practicing safe deceleration
  • Trains proper running mechanics
  • Increases warm-up exercise intensity prior to the training session or game
