Awards for Undergraduate Students
2015 marks 20 years of University of Calgary students helping their fellow students who are in financial need.
Thousands of students have benefited from the Student Peer Assistance Bursary (SPAB) program since it was initiated by the Students’ Union in 1995. In 2014, more than 900 undergraduates received $1.1 million in bursary support through the unique program. The donations and matching funding from the university add up to about $1 million every year. Undergraduate students who complete the financial information section of their online awards application are reviewed automatically for the special bursaries.
Applications for the Jason Lang Scholarships are not required at the University of Calgary. In the fall of each year, the Student Awards Office submits a list of eligible nominees to Alberta Scholarship Programs (ASP). If you qualify to receive one, ASP will send a cheque directly to your home address.
