The Finance and Services Portfolios

The finance and services portfolios are key enablers of the goals and vision set forth by the university. Finance and services employs roughly 1,200 full and part-time employees in the areas of Finance, Human Resources, Information Technologies, Internal Audit, Risk, Facilities and Ancillary Services. Its projects are varied and touch every aspect of campus life, from the bookstore and residence to payroll administration, and support of teaching and learning and research projects.

Ancillary Services is a group of self-funded operations committed to offering a high level of quality services enhancing, supporting and serving UCalgary.

Facilities provides an extensive list of services to the campus community, from responding to building issues and managing construction/renovation projects to caretaking, real estate inquiries, recycling and more.

The Finance team is responsible for the management of all financial activity at the university including strategically managing all of the university’s funds, capital investment decisions, and internal and external financial risks.

The Human Resources (HR) team specializes in employee support programs such as training, employee recognition, compensation, pensions and benefits.

Information Technologies (IT) provides computing, network and media services in support of learning, teaching, research and administration.

Internal Audit is responsible for providing independent, objective assurance and consulting services designed to add value and improve university operations.
