UniForum@UCalgary

UCalgary is participating in the global UniForum program—a multi-year benchmarking study—to better understand how we use our administration and operational services across the institution.

What is UniForum?

UniForum is a benchmarking program by NousCubane to assess how universities use administrative and operational services to support their academic mission. The program offers data and information to our leadership on how the University of Calgary manages its administration and operational services, what can be improved and how we compare to other institutions.

The University of Calgary is participating in this worldwide program along with other institutions from Canada—including University of Alberta, University of British Columbia, Dalhousie University, McMaster University, University of Ottawa, University of Saskatchewan, University of Toronto, Simon Fraser University and York University.

By collecting and comparing data, our leadership can start informed conversations around delivering efficient and effective administrative and operational services. The program also helps us understand where we need to invest or make realignments to improve our processes and experiences.

How does it work?

Activity Data Collection

Collecting accurate data through participant engagement is key to the success of the program. Each year, various leaders and managers of employees will receive access to the UniForum platform to provide input on how the university uses its resources for administrative and operational services.

Service Effectiveness Survey

Every two years, select UCalgary academic and professional staff will receive a confidential survey to provide feedback on various administrative and support services they use in their roles, and how satisfied they are with those services.

Data Results Review

After analyzing the collected data, Cubane Consulting presents the results to the Executive Leadership Team. Subsequently, the UniForum program team will meet with Senior Leadership Team members to present data on their respective faculties/departments/units.
