Biography

Wilma Shim has a BSc in Kinesiology and a JD from the University of Calgary. Following her articles with Alberta Justice, Wilma was a crown prosecutor with the Calgary General Prosecutions Unit. Currently, she is a barrister and solicitor in the Legal Services Department of Alberta Justice and Solicitor General. In 2010, Wilma was awarded the President’s Award for Excellence in Student Leadership and was inducted to the Order of the University of Calgary. Wilma represented Canada at the World Junior Powerlifting Championships where she won a Bronze Medal in the Deadlift Competition in 2007. In 2015, she was chosen as one of Avenue Magazines' Top 40 under 40. Her prized possession is her violin.
