16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence

16 Days of Activism is a global campaign dedicated to ending gender-based violence.

The campaign uses the days between International Day for Elimination of Violence Against Women (Nov. 25) and International Human Rights Day (Dec. 10) to reinforce that violence against women, girls, gender non-binary people and the LGBTQ+ community is a human rights violation.

Every year, the Women’s Resource Centre adopts the 16 Days of Activism campaign to focus on gender-based violence, and what individuals can do to prevent it.

Past events:

In previous years, the WRC has hosted events on topics including sex work, rethinking violence prevention work, the impact of armed conflict on women and pathways to healing. Check back in November for events for the 2021 days of activism.

Upcoming events:

Memorial Candle Sale | Nov. 21 - Dec. 9

National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women Ceremony | Monday, Dec. 6, noon - 12:30 p.m.
