Biography

Christy Morgan is a First Nations woman from the Bonaparte Band. She is the executive director of Calgary Urban Aboriginal Initiative. She has been with CUAI since 2002 and enjoys working within the urban Indigenous community in Calgary. She earned her Bachelor of Social Work at the University of Calgary. Christy was named one of Avenue Magazines Top 40 under 40 in 2011, and was awarded the Dr. Douglas Cardinal award for community Leadership in 2015 by the University of Calgary Student Association and the Native Centre. Christy also sits on a number of committees including Aboriginal Awareness Week Opening Ceremonies Planning Committee, Correction Service Canada: Citizens Advisory Committee and is the current chair of the Calgary Workers Resource Centre Board.
