4.1 Course Requirements

Year 1

It is required that all concurrent students complete Education 201 prior to entering the third year of the concurrent program. Concurrent students who have not completed Education 201 cannot progress to Semester 1 of the BEd program.

Students must enrol as full-time students in all the 400-level courses listed below. It is not possible to complete courses on a part-time basis without the express permission of the Associate Dean.

Students may not enrol in courses outside the BEd program in Fall and Winter Terms in Year 1 of the BEd program (Year 3 concurrent program).

Semester I
Education 420 (Issues in Learning and Teaching)
Education 427 (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM))

Education 430 (Pragmatics of Learning and Teaching)
Education 435 (Literacy, Language and Culture)
Education 440 (Field Experience I)

Semester II
Education 445 (Individual Learning: Theories and Applications)
Education 450 (Diversity in Learning)
Education 455 (Professional Development and Lifelong Learning)
Education 460 (Specialization I)
Education 465 (Field Experience II)

Year 2

Students must have successfully completed all the Year 1 BEd (400-level) courses prior to proceeding to Year 2.

Students must enrol as full-time students in the 500-level courses listed below. It is not possible to complete courses on a part-time basis without the express permission of the Associate Dean or designate.

Students may not enrol in courses outside the BEd program in Fall and Winter Terms in Year 1 of the BEd program (Year 3 concurrent program).

To graduate, students must successfully complete each semester with a minimum 2.50 GPA and a pass for the following courses:
