Chancellor's Club Scholarships
General Information and Policies

Chancellor's Club Scholarships are available to students entering their first year of post-secondary studies who will be admitted to the U of C on the basis of their high school grades.

  • Eligibility: Generally, recipients of these awards must have earned a minimum average of 88.0% throughout high school. Students must be entering a Fall Term at the University of Calgary. Students entering the Bachelor of Health Sciences program in the Faculty of Medicine are eligible to apply for Chancellor's Club Scholarships. Students entering or continuing in the Bachelor of Education (Master of Teaching Program) are not eligible to apply for Chancellor's Club Scholarships.
  • Requirements: The payment of monetary awards, with the exception of certain prizes and graduating scholarships, is contingent upon the student maintaining full-time status in the immediate Fall and Winter terms. Unless otherwise stated in the conditions, the recipient must be in actual full-time attendance at the University of Calgary before receiving the awards. Payment of tuition and fees is the first charge against such awards. If the value of an award is stated as "tuition and fees", it is understood not to include differential fees. Supplemental, deferred and special deferred examinations or term work may affect eligibility for certain awards.
  • Recipients must be registered in a minimum course load of five half courses/15 units per term for both Fall and Winter. Chancellor's Club Scholarships are renewable in the second, third and fourth year conditional on the achievement of a minimum grade point average of 3.50 on five half courses/15 units per term for both Fall and Winter. Spring and/or summer courses cannot be used to reduce course-load requirements, nor will grades from these courses be used in calculating the grade point average required for renewal. Chancellor's Club Scholarship recipients entering the U of C in a General Arts faculty or in a General Science Faculty must remain so registered to be considered for renewal.
  • Application: To be considered for Chancellor's Club Scholarships, complete the High School Awards Online Application, available in the Student Center through the myUofC portal, and submit two High School Awards Character and Academic Reference Forms. Upon submitting the High School Awards Online Application students will also be considered for all remaining High School Awards. Students must apply for admission prior to applying for High School Awards as they will require a U of C student ID number to access the online application.
  • Deadline: Submit the High School Awards Online Application on or before December 15 of the year prior to entering the University. Submit two High School Awards Character & Academic Reference Forms by January 15.
  • Notification: Successful applicants will be notified by email in March and must accept/decline their award in the Student Center.
  • Note:  Prior to applying, students are encouraged to review the High School Awards Online Application information provided on the Student Awards and Financial Aid website.
  • Students need not have been accepted for admission to the University prior to applying for Outstanding Chancellor's Club Scholarships.
  • Non-Alberta students must mail or fax their high school transcript to the Student Awards and Financial Aid office by January 15.  Grades for Alberta students will be obtained electronically provided an accurate Alberta Learning ID number is entered on their application for admission to the U of C.
