About

Materials and Manufacturing is heavily researched in the department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering. However, there are various areas of expertise, knowledge, and research. This includes the manufacturing of aerospace structures, such as deployable booms for use in CubeSats, and robotic machining and the automating of the machining process. As well, it involves the development of lubricants and high strength materials to increase the reliability and lifetime of moving components in aerospace systems.
