0.5 FCE - Mathematics 311 or 313

1.5 FCE - Applied Mathematics 307, 309, 433

4.0 FCE - Breadth requirement: Non-science options from the Faculties of Communication and Culture, Humanities, Fine Arts and Social Sciences and the Haskayne School of Business (check Table I in 3.4 Program Requirements for ineligible courses). Of these 4.0 FCE, at least one FCE must be from each of at least two of the aforementioned Faculties.

1.0 FCE - Science options

2.0 FCE - Options

Note : Mathematics 281, 283, 381, and a Mathematics/Applied Mathematics/Pure Mathematics or Physics elective at the 300-level or higher can be taken as an alternative to the Applied Mathematics 217, (or Mathematics 249 or 251), 219, 307, and 309 calculus course sequence.

Note: Students using only a single chemistry course to fulfill their program requirements may use Chemistry 203 or Chemistry 209 in place of the suggested Chemistry 201 or 211.

Required courses - Honours Program

Same as in Major Program except that Physics 599, 0.5 FCE Physics option and 2.0 FCE Options are replaced by:

1.0 FCE - Physics 598

2.0 FCE - Physics 451, 481, 543, 597

Recommendations

(a) Physics 120 is taught during block week prior to commencement of regular courses in the Winter Term. This type of block course is recommended, but not required. No credit is given for such block courses and no fees are charged.

(b) It is strongly recommended that Applied Mathematics 217 be taken in preference to Mathematics 249 or 251 whenever the option to do so exists.
